Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer
Rafael Nadal set up a quarter-final showdown
with old foe Roger Federer after overcoming the spirited challenge of
Grigor Dimitrov at the Western and Southern Open.
The Spaniard, ranked four in Cincinnati, eventually came out on top 6-2 5-7 6-2 to ensure he would face Federer in the last eight.
"Always play against Roger is a special feeling," said Nadal.
"We have a great history behind us in our confrontations, so it's another quarter-finals.
"It's a special one because you're playing against a very special player. Our matches were very special always.
"But, again, it's a quarter-finals match, not the final, so that's a big difference."
Tomas Berdych also progressed into the last eight after the sixth seed brushed aside Tommy Robredo.
Berdych came out on top 6-3 6-0 and the Czech will now take on US Open and Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
